Beef & Lamb heroes wanted

The call has gone out to chefs around the country to plate up their best beef and lamb dishes to see if they’ve got what it takes to be selected as a Beef + Lamb Ambassador Chef in 2020.

With the recent changes announced to the Food Service Portfolio, Beef + Lamb New Zealand are excited to be moving forward and putting the emphasis on their Ambassador Chefs, which has been highlighting the wealth of talented chefs in New Zealand for close to quarter of a century.  To date Beef + Lamb New Zealand have showcased the skills, craft and creativity of over 80 Ambassador Chefs. These have included some of the best known faces of Aotearoa’s food scene including; Peter Gordon, Rex Morgan, Kate Fay, Shaun Clouston, Mat McLean and Darren Wright to name but a few, becoming one of New Zealand’s most sort after job clubs in the hospitality sector.

“We are looking for chefs to be the voices of Beef + Lamb New Zealand driving innovation and creativity within the food service sector and ultimately helping to shape our country’s food story”, says Lisa Moloney, Food Service Manager at Beef + Lamb New Zealand.   “We want chefs who know how to hero the beef and lamb on their dishes and have the knowledge of the story behind the farm gate and where their produce are coming from”.

To be eligible to enter, chefs need to submit their most creative, tasty and visually appealing beef and lamb dish on their menu.  Applications will be shortlisted with the finalists having their beef and lamb dishes assessed in their restaurants from late October through until the end of November.  Chefs have until Friday 18 October to submit their application via www.nzexcellenceawards.co.nz\chefs-apply-here
