Hospitality New Zealand Conference October 17-19

Last minute registrations for the 2017 Hospitality New Zealand Conference and Awards are available and with a strong line up of industry experts and the excellence awards dinner, it looks set to be another great industry event.

“Having just travelled the country talking to Hospitality New Zealand members I have a deep appreciation for the blood, sweat and (sometimes) tears our members put into their businesses. Many, if not most, are SME’s and they literally are the business so taking time away from it can be really hard”, says Vicki Lee, CEO Hospitality New Zealand. “That’s why we pour so much effort into ensuring our annual Conference and Awards are worth taking time out of their busy lives to attend”.

“I’m a firm believer everybody needs mindfood, and a couple of days in Wellington immersed in some great industry discussions, as well as, the opportunity to catch up with friends, colleagues and industry rock-stars might be exactly what is needed to charge the mental batteries as we head into what is shaping up to be another busy summer for many”.

The Conference and Awards programme is spread across 3 days, 17-19 October 2017 at Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington.

The Future Leaders Day on Tuesday 17 October is for anyone wanting to take their career to the next level and be inspired by Future Leaders already making a difference.

“It’s a day designed for the next generation of hospitality professionals coming through the system.” Ms Lee said. “Employers may wish to attend this event with their staff, or they might just send their team along for some motivation and inspiration without the boss in tow. Our inaugural Rising Stars Awards winners will also be announced that night which again recognises the new talent coming through the industry”.

The National Conference runs 18-19 October and covers all aspects of hospitality, commercial accommodation and tourism, including industry insights, trends and ‘take home’ information to help delegates grow their businesses.

Speakers include chef Simon Gault, creator of The Great New Zealand Cookbook and The Great New Zealand Songbook Murray Thom, and interior designer Rachel Luchetti, along with post- insights and much more.

The finale of the conference is the black-tie dinner where winners in the Awards for Excellence will be announced.
