New GM for Stamford Plaza Auckland

Clinton Farley has been appointed General Manager of Stamford Plaza Auckland. Clinton returns to New Zealand following six years offshore, having opened several properties for Hilton and then most recently with Radisson.

In a “dream” move for Clinton, relocation to Auckland brings his family back to their home city, after fifteen years away.

Clinton brings with him almost 21 years’ experience in the industry, having commenced in Auckland, at New Zealand’s largest five-star property at the time, Carlton Hotel Auckland. His experience has seen him lead multiple award-winning teams and properties throughout Australasia. In 2017, Farley was recognised by the industry’s leading HM Awards as Australian Hotel General Manager of the Year.

Farley commenced with Stamford Hotels and Resorts on 11th February and will lead the 5-star Stamford Plaza Auckland, featuring 286 contemporary guest rooms, significant meeting and event venues, award-winning KOA Restaurant and Kabuki, New Zealand’s best Teppanyaki Restaurant.

“I am thrilled to have returned to Auckland to lead one of the city’s most well-known and recognised 5-star properties”, said Clinton. “The property has a great team and offers a premium product for those visiting Auckland’s CBD. I look forward to continuing the hotel’s momentum as a key player in Auckland’s 5-star market, whilst leading the team to deliver Exceptional Service in Every Sense.”

Ciaran Handy, Managing Director of Operations Stamford Land Corporation Limited, commented, “Clinton’s extensive experience across the industry coupled with his sophisticated management and award-winning leadership will play a pivotal role in his position. Stamford Plaza Auckland is our flagship property in the region and Clinton’s expertise and passion will ensure the hotel and team continue to perform at the highest levels.”
