New World Kumeu – A cut above the rest

The Butchery Manager, Peter Tuapawa and his department are one of a select few in New Zealand to display the New Zealand Butchery Guild in the newest of the New World stores in the North Island.

The exclusive award introduced in 2012, is only presented to those who reach the highest standards in areas of butchery including service, training, health and safety, and overall customer experience.

The butchery department at New World Kumeu prides themselves not only on their technique but their policy of always going the extra mile.

“We always provide quality products and service that leaves our customers happy. No job is too big or too small.

“Our team members are full of knowledge and we take pride in everything we do, sometimes it’s the small things that make our customers smile the most,” says Tuapawa.

The New Zealand Butchery Guild, which is gaining prominence in the industry, is recognition of Peter and his department’s passion for the trade.

“Having the Guild in our store is a very high achievement for us all. It shows our customers that we only put out the best and that we give 100 per cent in everything we do,” he says.

To ensure standards remain consistent, retailers are audited annually by independent industry body Retail Meat New Zealand (RMNZ) to maintain their Guild status.

Customers will be able to locate all New Zealand Butchery Guild approved stores easily by looking for the Guild sticker in the window and the plaque in store.
