On Saturday October 12 InterContinental Wellington was named Oceania’s Leading Conference Hotel 2019 at the World Travel Awards in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, building on their wins for the same accolade in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

“We are delighted to receive this award which acknowledges not only our owner’s continued investment into Wellington as a destination but also our incredible team who deliver memorable experiences to guests and delegates throughout the year” says Scott Hamilton, InterContinental Wellington General Manager.

The meeting rooms on site are well-equipped with a variety of technologically savvy resources including in-house audio-visual specialists, interactive whiteboards that connect directly to iOS and Android devices, and retractable projector screens. Also featured are wall-mounted touch-screen control panels that allow lighting, sound, and visuals to be easily controlled. Conference menus can also be tailored to meet specific needs and dietary requirements.

In addition to the ample amenities and menu choices offered for meeting rooms, InterContinental Wellington also has 236 guest rooms and suites to house conference goers. InterContinental’s blend of luxury and comfort ensures that guests have the option to mix business and pleasure.

InterContinental Wellington’s waterfront location provides delegates and meeting organizers the most centrally-located and experienced global five-star hotel in New Zealand’s capital city.

Wellington itself delivers delegates a memorable experience, offering fine art, a stunning harbour, surrounding suburban hillside, a café culture, as well as a thriving bar and restaurant scene. InterContinental Wellington’s Presidential Suite was also recognized as New Zealand’s Leading Hotel Suite.
