Wellington welcomes back Sofitel

To both locals’ and travellers’ delight, Wellington’s decadent Sofitel will reopen its doors in October, following a temporary hiatus.

The original Sofitel team, along with the hotel’s top grill restaurant Jardin Grill, the Green Room lounge, and Sofitel’s  5-Star rooms and suites.

The 129-room, 14-storey hotel is returning to its original status as the capital’s favourite destination for business and leisure travellers, nestled between Wellington’s iconic landmarks The Beehive and the Botanical Gardens.

The hotel’s design flawlessly blends local flair with French heritage through a botanical inspired décor which is influenced by the gardens of Wellington and the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris.Stephen Gould, Sofitel Wellington’s General Manager, says the Sofitel’s return has been highly anticipated.

With a wine list curated by New Zealand’s premiere wine authority John Saker, and menudesigned by culinary star Royxeenn Giam – the Jardin Grill promises to be a staple withlocals and travellers alike. True to its theme, the restaurant is beautifully set amongst floral frescoes. Its imaginativemenu is based upon the grill, expanding the offerings from large to small plates.

The Green Room lounge and bar lives up to its name with Bolton Street’s verdant gardens,viewable through expansive floor to ceiling glass walls.Sofitel Wellington is the third Sofitel in New Zealand, joining its award-winning sister properties Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour and Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa.
