The date is set for the first opening of New Zealand’s $790 million flagship living centre, Westfield Newmarket.  Scentre Group has announced the centre will open on Thursday 29 August with the first 40 stores across levels one, two and three operating.

The start of Westfield Newmarket’s unveiling, the centre will welcome a new Farmers, a first-to-market Coco Republic featuring L’Americano café and a mix of New Zealand’s favourite brands now available in the one place, including The Coffee Club..

Scentre Group Chief Operating Officer, Greg Miles said this was a major milestone for the redevelopment to date and testament to customer and retailer demand to open this month.

“August marks the first of multiple openings for Westfield Newmarket. We know the community has been eager to see the centre’s evolution for themselves and it’s testament to our dedicated team and our retailers that we will be opening our doors for the very first time later this month.

“What we’re delivering is a new benchmark for retail, dining and entertainment in the heart of Auckland – the best of the Westfield experience curated specifically for New Zealanders.

“Over the coming months we’ll deliver Auckland’s first rooftop dining and entertainment precinct, a fresh food marketplace, over 200 stores including the best in international and local fashion along with a series of premium and first-to-portfolio services designed to elevate the customer experience.”

To celebrate the opening of Westfield Newmarket, customers will be treated to four days of festivities, special offers and entertainment across Levels one, two and three. More details to be announced soon.
