QT Auckland seeks Directors of Chaos

Here’s the news:

Is this the coolest job in Auckland? QT Hotels’ new hub of quirky luxury is launching in the Viaduct later this year, and has put out a casting call for three Directors of Chaos.

An iconic presence at the doors of QT Auckland, they’ll be the guardians of the world less conventional that lies within. So what does it take to get the part?

Directors of Chaos will be an expert insider into the city, a walking little black book of locals-only knowledge. A true people person, they spark joy with their authentic empathy and have a flair for the theatrics. Quick to offer a helping hand, this is the most over-the-top concierge role New Zealand has ever seen.

Part concierge, part porter, Directors of Chaos bring magic to each stay, so they love to tackle guests’ requests. Pillow forts, colour-sorted M&Ms and framed portraits of favourite actors, bring it on!

Beyond QT’s signature licence for all staff to embrace their own individuality (no scripts here), perks of the job include a bespoke costume designed by a local Auckland fashion label, expert styling and full access to a green room at the beginning of each shift, where they complete their look with a full range of complimentary makeup and grooming products to help step into the role.

Familiar to QT fans in Australia, having chaos-directing as a job title is a first for New Zealand and QT Auckland will debut the Director of Chaos role.

One of QT Sydney’s Directors of Chaos sets the stage by showing prospective candidates in Auckland what a day in the life would be like.
