Award winning hotelier Jodi Brown appointed GM at QT Wellington

QT Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Jodi Brown as General Manager of QT Wellington and Museum Apartment Hotel. With over 14 years of experience in the luxury hotel and hospitality industry, Brown brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and award-winning leadership to her new appointment.

Beginning her career with EVT, Brown has had a diverse and successful career in hotels and hospitality. Notably, she became General Manager of Atura Hotel Albury, where she led the property through a 12-month full refurbishment and rebrand.

Her exceptional leadership skills and passion for true luxury in the hospitality and tourism industry were evident throughout this process. She also served as the General Manager of QT Sydney. Brown has held leadership positions at Eos by SkyCity Adelaide, as well as SkyCity Hospitality, overseeing conferences and events and signature restaurants such as Adelaide’s iconic Sol Rooftop.

Throughout her career, Brown has been recognised with numerous awards for her outstanding contributions to the industry. Most recently, she was awarded ‘Australian General Manager of the Year’ at Hospitality Business’ sister publication’s 2022 HM Awards.

Originally from Canberra, Australia, this will be her first time working in New Zealand, and she is thrilled to be joining the vibrant and creative city of Wellington. Brown shared her enthusiasm for her new role, saying, “I am thrilled to join the QT Wellington team, and I’m excited to be back working with QT. It’s such a vibrant and playful brand. My aim is to continue to grow and establish QT Wellington as the ultimate destination for travellers.”

Brown will take QT Wellington to the next chapter, redefining the food and beverage experience at the hotel and aiming to further enhance the overall guest experience.

“People are the heart of everything we do, from providing a high level of service as part of the guest experience to building a high-performing team. We plan on reinvigorating creative changes in our food and beverage offerings and will continue to look for new ways to provide exciting experiences for our guests,” said Brown.

Alongside QT Wellington, Brown will take on the role of General Manager of the Museum Apartment Hotel. The 97-room property adjoins QT Wellington, offering apartment-style accommodation. The EVT-owned Museum Apartment Hotel is part of the brand’s Independent Collection of hotels, offering guests shared access to all QT Wellington’s facilities, including an indoor pool, spa, gym, conferencing, and dining options.

Located on the doorstep of Wellington’s entertainment district, QT Wellington is a design-led boutique hotel filled to the brim with art. Featuring the largest private collection on display, the 81-room hotel is an invitation for guests to explore their artistic intrigue.

Level four harbours Gallery 4 rooms, each featuring unique and bespoke touches by New Zealand artists. Guests can also indulge in award-winning dining experiences at the upscale, French-inspired signature restaurant, Hippopotamus, and the eclectic Asian fusion bar and eatery, Hot Sauce. QT Wellington offers guests a quirky, five-star enclave in Aotearoa’s creative capital.
