Canterbury lamb wine match at Molten

rsz_molten_restaurant_heroMt Eden neighbourhood eatery Molten restaurant is introducing a new and limited offer, early March, to supplement its popular slow-cooked feasting menu.

Molten restaurant has joined Greystone Winery to bring diners a taste of New Zealand on a plate by way of an outstanding food and wine matching experience. It comprises Greystone Estate’s celebrated Pinot Noir and organic milk-fed lamb raised on the winery’s’ farm in Waipara, North Canterbury.

Diners will be served a whole lamb, jointed and expertly cooked over Molten’s wood-fire barbeque and enough to feed four to six diners. The lamb is accompanied by ratatouille with pancetta and baby onions, fresh green beans, duck fat roast potatoes, pickled vegetables with black olives and white anchovy and freshly baked bread.

“We keep in close contact with all our suppliers, so when Greystone mentioned they had these organically raised lambs available, we jumped at the chance” says co-owner and Molten sommelier, Sven Nielson. “How could you resist offering guests such fantastic produce alongside the vineyard’s sumptuous 2014 Pinot Noir at such an incredible price?”

To match the food, diners will relish a glorious bottle of the 2014 Greystone Estate Pinot Noir, all for a cost of $249 (value $400).

Pre-booking is essential by contacting Molten restaurant on moltenrestaurant@gmail.com or (09) 638 7236.
