Cookies for charity available throughout December

For a third consecutive year, Chantal Organics, New Zealand’s award-winning purveyor of sustainable and organic products, and beloved bakery Bread & Butter, are launching their annual Christmas Charity Cookie campaign to raise funds for families doing it tough.

Chantal Organics and Bread & Butter have collaborated to create a shortbread cookie – infused with orange zest and topped with white chocolate and freeze-dried orange peel – that will be sold throughout the month of December 2023.

The limited-edition cookies will be available to purchase for $12.65 per pack, with $5 from every pack sold being donated to people in need this festive season.

In Auckland, Farro and Ecostore have committed to sell the Christmas Charity Cookies in-store, alongside Bread & Butter bakery, with all proceeds being donated to Auckland City Mission.

This year, for the first time, the cookies will also be available for purchase at Commonsense in Wellington, with proceeds going to Wellington City Mission, and Chantal Shop in Napier, who will donate proceeds to Nourished for Nil, a local non-profit organisation that rescues food to redistribute it to people in need.

Chantal Organics Brand Manager, Anne Scholl, says she is thrilled to bring the partnership to life for a third year, after a particularly tough year for Kiwi, with many struggling to feed themselves and their families.

“It was hugely important to us to continue our Christmas Charity Cookie partnership this year, this time going bigger and supporting more communities in need. We’ve all felt the pressures of rising costs, and this is especially true for those families who have struggled with even the necessities.

“Christmas is a time to come together and show our appreciation for friends, whānau, and community. We are delighted to partner with Bread & Butter again to spread some Christmas cheer and give back to New Zealanders doing it tougher this year.”

Bread & Butter Bakery Director Isabel Pasch said Bread & Butter continues to be an ongoing supporter of Auckland City Mission, donating leftover bread and pastries to the Mission, and looks forward to giving back to the community for a third festive season in collaboration with Chantal Organics.

“Using organic and sustainable ingredients baked with love, our Christmas Cookies are a delicious way for people to support, care for and nourish one another this holiday season.”

The limited range of Christmas Cookies will retail for $12.65 for a 250g bag and are available to purchase throughout December 2023 at Bread & Butter Bakery & Café Grey Lynn, at select Farro stores, Commonsense in Wellington, Chantal Shop in Napier, Ecostore shop in Freemans Bay, Auckland, or online via Bread & Butter here.
