America’s Cup nautical burgers join Maccas NZ

As New Zealand begins to rally behind Emirates Team New Zealand on their quest to win the America’s Cup in home waters, McDonald’s New Zealand has entered cup fever by launching three new burgers only available on our fair shores.

Foiling Crispy Fish.

The extra special range joins the ranks of other legendary burgers created to celebrate global sporting events and local cuisine, including the McBrasil, complete with special green mayonnaise especially for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the Prosperity Burger released only in China for Chinese New Year.

Set to get Kiwis into the sailing spirit, the Sailor’s Double Beef, Skipper’s Spicy Chicken or Foiling Crispy Fish are available from today for a limited time only.

Each burger has its own unique twist;

  • Sailor’s Double Beef – includes two juicy beef patties, crispy onions, beetroot and smoky BBQ sauce.
  • Skipper’s Spicy Chicken – mouth-watering chicken, crunchy slaw and spicy mayo.
  • Foiling Crispy Fish – NZ-caught hoki fillet, slaw, lettuce and tartare sauce.

“As Emirates Team New Zealand Family Partner, we wanted to give our crew of Kiwis the chance to enjoy a range of burgers that are uniquely New Zealand, with familiar ingredients perfect for the summer months,” says McDonald’s NZ Managing Director, Dave Howse.

“Having the America’s Cup Regatta at home is a special time for New Zealand, and what better way to celebrate than with a limited edition burger.”

The new burgers are joining the Emirates Team New Zealand range available at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide and through McDelivery.
