New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association changes dates due to COVID-19

Following the announcement that COVID-19 has officially been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, the New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association has announced new dates for its events. They  believe that this is the best course of action to protect the health of everyone in the specialty coffee community who gather at its events every year.

Following the advice and guidance from World Coffee Events, and with the announcement today that MICE and the World Barista Championship 2020 are postponing their event dates to 3rd-6th November, the association has decided to postpone two events planned for April.

Coffee In Good Spirits Throwdown due to be held on Thursday 2 April at Prefab Hall will now take place on Thursday 3 September.

The Meadow Fresh NZ Barista Championship due to be held on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 April at Expressions in Upper Hutt will be moved to the new dates of Saturday 5 September and Sunday 6 September.

The association has apologised to all that may have made travel and accommodation arrangements prior to the announcement, stating the health and safety aspects remain of highest concern.
