Accor has revealed a new-build Novotel hotel in New Plymouth, New Zealand, will join its network in 2015. Currently under construction, the new 100-room Novotel New Plymouth is scheduled to open early next year, making it the eighth Novotel property in the country.

Novotel New Plymouth will feature a mix of executive and studio rooms, one-bedroom apartments and a penthouse suite, three food and beverage outlets, two meeting rooms, a pool, gymnasium and day spa.

“This is a key development for the Taranaki region, which will positively add to New Zealand’s hotel industry and wider economy,” said vice president operations for Accor New Zealand, Fiji and Japan, Garth Simmons.

The hotel is being developed by owner, Philip Brown who has appointed Hamilton-based Foster Construction and New Plymouth building firm ICL Construction to carry out the project. Once open, the hotel will employ around 70 hospitality staff.
