Power along Queenstown’s trails thanks to Crowne Plaza Queenstown

Cycling in the South Island in summer!

Queenstown’s premier lakefront hotel, Crowne Plaza Queenstown, is inviting guests to soak up the great outdoors – with ease.

The hotel is offering guests the perfect summer packages to enjoy some well-deserved time out exploring Queenstown’s exceptional bike trails and stunning landscapes.

The Ride the Basin package includes two nights’ accommodation, full buffet breakfast daily in threesixty restaurant, half-day electric bike hire from the hotel, and two delicious picnic boxes.

The deal is available for all room types for a minimum two night stay. Bike hire times are subject to availability and must be arranged at time of booking.

To celebrate, Crowne Plaza Queenstown is offering one lucky person the chance to win a Ride the Basin package for them and a friend. Entrants are asked to tag a friend on the hotel’s competition post to win the ultimate break www.facebook.com/CrownePlazaQueenstown

The competition closes on December 4 2016. The winner of a Ride the Basin package will be announced on December 5 2016. The prize excludes travel to and from Crowne Plaza Queenstown and must be redeemed by April 15 2017 (blackout dates apply).

Crowne Plaza Queenstown general manager Reinier Eulink said the package was a fun way for couples and friends to explore Queenstown and surrounds this summer.

“Cycle tourism is on the rise, and this package enables guests to tackle Queenstown’s trails with as much or as little effort as they wish,” he said. “Simply pull back on the throttle for power, or begin to pedal with assistance from the motor.”

“The bike motor stops as soon as you touch the brakes. If guests are feeling energetic they can choose to switch off the motor and ride like a normal bicycle.”

“Queenstown’s renowned for its awe-inspiring alpine vistas, crystal clear lakes and stunning river gorges, so it’s the ultimate way to explore our cycle-friendly town.

“Visitors can find a picturesque spot to enjoy their picnic box from threesixty, relax and enjoy the moment before heading back to the hotel.”

The bikes allow visitors to travel far and wide on their half-day trip. Picnic blankets are available on request and can be safely transported in the bicycle basket.

The property is also offering guests looking to experience the magic of Queenstown up to 35% off their stay until January 31 2017, with the option to add daily buffet breakfast at threesixty restaurant.

An exclusive Queenstown guide is available to ensure guests get the most out of their stay. The #explorelikealocal guide offers locals’ tips and a huge range of activities to suit all ages and budgets this summer.

Widely known as Queenstown’s chic, friendly and cosmopolitan downtown hotel, Crowne Plaza Queenstown is at the centre of it all, enjoying the best in-town location overlooking stunning Lake Wakatipu.

Bookings are subject to availability and the packages are not available in conjunction with any other offer. If the bikes cannot be used due to severe weather conditions, guests will receive a food and beverage credit in exchange.
