Pink provides much needed boost to hospitality

Pink concert Hospitality NZ

Hospitality New Zealand provides its members with all the tools and resources necessary to thrive when big events like Pink are in town.

Whether or not you’re a fan of her music, Pink’s recent trip to our shores provided a real boost to not only our visitor economy, but the hospitality industry, too.

The concerts the American popstar put on in both Auckland and Dunedin were a blessing for our sector, with an influx of domestic visitors booking out many hotels and flooding into cafes, bars and restaurants.

The performances, which drew huge crowds, are a real reminder that hospitality, major events and the visitor economy are closely intertwined and all benefit from one another.

Hospitality is a significant contributor to economic activity and employment in New Zealand. The sector directly contributes $6.9 billion to New Zealand’s economy, and employs 149,000 people – who all work relentlessly to provide an exceptional experience for their customers.
