AUT INTERNZ scholarship winner impressed PUBLIC New York restaurant bosses so much, that they’re asked for more.

AUT InterNZ International Scholarships programme winner, Lauren Stewart, has arrived home after a stellar year working in one of New York’s best restaurants, PUBLIC.

Programme manager Karyn Tattersfield says, “Lauren has done us proud. At the end of 2014, we announced our 2015 AUT interNZ International Scholarship recipients, and because Lauren impressed the team there so, PUBLIC asked for more interns from AUT next year.

“In January we’re sending an AUT graduate to PUBLIC, and another to its owner, AvroKO Hospitality Group. The competition for the places was really fierce this year and we’ve got two really great young women filling these internships and they’ll be departing in January.”

Greer Rasmussen will be going to PUBLIC. Greer has just graduated with a Bachelor of Business, and has been working for the MEXICO Group, front and back of house, since it opened. Kimberley Mar, who has also recently graduated with a Bachelor of Business too, will be going to AvroKO Hospitality Group, which is also in NY.
