The event will start with mixed canapés prepared by chef Kupsami from the Novotel, who will be followed by chefs from a range of restaurants. Each meal will have a portion size based on being no bigger than 90 grams per person.

Organiser Sjaack Roos is asking for the chefs involved to contact him by 12 May with their list of ingredients to sponsors can be organised for each product.

Mr Roos, the group executive chef for Distinction Hotels, will be preparing a salmon dish due for service at about 1.40 pm.

Each establishment has been asked to prepare the food on their own premised on the day and to transport their meals to the hotel for final preparation and service at a time arranged by the organising committee.

As reported earlier in The Mud, the event will cost $95 per person or $900 for a table of ten. The money being raised will go to the charities Canteen and Cure Kids.

The sponsors for the event include the Chefs Association, Distinction Hotels, Waiariki Institute of Technology, Gilmours, Bidvest, Eurest, Holiday Inn, Rydges, Millennium Rotorua, Skyline, Wai-Ora-Spa and More FM Rotorua. The Mud has also come on board as a backer to help ensure this charitable event receives the widest possible support.
