Culinary mastermind salutes local produce

Raising a glass to outstanding local seafood and produce, Australian culinary Mastermind Luke Mangan and FISH Restaurant present Cheers to Local, a curated five-course degustation dinner this 21 July.

Overseeing more than 20 restaurants across the Asia-Pacific, Luke Mangan is bringing his culinary expertise to FISH Restaurant exclusively to Auckland for this event. He is giving a few of his signature dishes a Kiwi spin in the exclusive five-course dinner whilst showcasing extraordinary New Zealand produce. Diners can expect an evening of fresh local seafood paired with Cloudy Bay wine.

Head Chef of Hilton Sydney’s flagship Glass Brasserie, Mangan will bring three of his signature dishes;  Kingfish Sashimi, Crab Omelette and Liquorice & Lime Trifle to the event at FISH. Luke will recreate all these dishes using ingredients sourced sustainably from across New Zealand, most notably the New Zealand seafood will be at its peak quality during the winter season.

Alongside Luke in the kitchen will be FISH Restaurant’s Executive Chef, Wallace Mua who will bring to life the restaurants’ Bay of Plenty Scampi Carpaccio and locally farmed Belly of Lamb dishes.

Cheers to local is a celebration of the incredible seafood and produce available locally here in New Zealand and I’m really excited to bring my signature dishes from Glass and fuse them with FISH Restaurant’s own beloved seafood dishes to create an evening highlighting fresh sustainable local produce paired with iconic New Zealand wines,” said Mangan.

Food enthusiasts are in for a night of international influence as Luke’s excellence has been at the requests of a handful of influential leaders including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Sir Richard Branson, Actor Tom Cruise and the Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary’s wedding. For more information go to www.fishrestaurant.co.nz
