Good George create a limited edition beer can for O-Week

rsz_wsu_can_render_v1_flatWaikato students will be able to get a taste of local craft beer during O-Week activities this year with the limited edition release of ‘Backyard Pilsner’ in a 330ml can.

The can design and the name ‘Backyard Pilsner’ are inspired by the theme for O-Week this year which is ‘Big in our Backyard’. “We really enjoyed the opportunity to work with Good George on this because it’s local and as an organisation they fit with our ‘Big in our Backyard’ theme.” Said WSU President Indula Jayasundara. “The can was designed by award winning Nexus Designer Olivia Paris to evoke the idea of a kiwi summer. For us a collectable can is the perfect way to remember ORI2016.” ‘Good George is a proudly brewed in Hamilton and we love to support local. When the opportunity came up to develop a branded can with the WSU (Waikato Students’ Union) we jumped at the opportunity’ says Shannon Thorpe, Good George Sales & Marketing Manager.

Good George will be donating 10 cents from every can sold to the WSU.

The can will be available for purchase during O-Week activities and will also be sold at local liquor stores and supermarkets from February with an RRP of $19.90 for a 6 pack.
