Following a kitchen fire on  Friday December 2 the Sofitel Wellington hotel will be temporarily closed until 31 January 2017.
The cause of the fire, which broke out in the Jardin Grill restaurant, in an annexe to the hotel tower, is being investigated by the NZ Fire Department.

As the Jardin Grill restaurant is no longer operational and the hotel tower has experienced smoke damage, a management decision has been made to close  until repair works have been completed.  A media spokesperson said all guests and staff were immediately evacuated without harm or injury, and guests have been relocated to the nearby Novotel Wellington and Bolton hotels.

“The comfort and safety of guests are at the forefront of this decision, and the hotel team will continue to work on relocations for future bookings.”

Any guests wishing to contact the hotel, can phone +64 4 472 2001 or email H9051@Sofitel.com
