London on the menu for Ōra King Bursary winner

ora_carlita_campbell_ora_king_bursary_winner_2014Wellington chef de partie Carlita Campbell has taken a three week sabbatical to London after winning the $10,000 Ōra King Chef’s Bursary award in March.

The 21 year old who works at Cobar Restaurant arrived in the British capital at the end of June and has already written about her experiences at Taste London Festival 2014 and a stage at the Fishmongers Hall.

Carlita is blogging regularly throughout her whirlwind stint in London. She’s also going on a Billingsgate Market tour, visiting Borough Market, working at Mark Jankel’s Street Kitchen and finishing with stages at two Michelin starred restaurant – Marcus (formerly Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley) – and at the three-star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Hospital Road, Chelsea.

Carlita is the recipient of the inaugural Ōra King Chef’s Bursary Award which was created to provide one outstanding up-and-coming chef a taste of the world with the launch of a new Chef’s Bursary. Judging took place in Auckland in March.

Ōra King also organises the annual Ōra awards to recognise outstanding contributions from chefs working with the brand. They are awarded in four categories, best Ōra King ambassador (international and domestic), and the best dish (international and domestic). www.orakingsalmon.co.nz/oras
