Nesuto Stadium Hotel reopens after $13m upgrade

Following the completion of an extensive $13 million refurbishment project, Nesuto Stadium Hotel and Apartments, Auckland has reopened.

The project saw the apartment rooms and hotel room’s inventory increase by almost 50 percent to 224 keys, comprising 70 renovated one and two-bedroom apartments, 30 renovated studios and 144 new-build hotel rooms. The lobby and food and beverage offering have also been completely revamped.

To oversee the property and lead the team, Nesuto has appointed Richard Gamlin to the role of General Manager. Richard has extensive hotel experience with brands including Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton and Amari. He was most recently General Manager at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City in the Philippines.

For guests looking for a more traditional hotel stay, Nesuto Stadium is the only property in the Nesuto portfolio which also offers hotel rooms. Each of the property’s 144 hotel rooms offer a queen/king bed with the option for single, double or twin share occupancy, complimentary highspeed internet, a business desk, four USB charging ports, a 50inch Smart TV with Netflix streaming capability, independent air conditioning, an in-room safe and tea and coffee facilities. Of the 144 rooms, 65 are deluxe category and offer the additional feature of a balcony.

Nesuto Stadium’s 100 apartments feature full kitchen facilities, open plan flow to the dining and living room, a washing machine and dryer in every apartment bathroom, a business desk, 50” Smart TV with Netflix streaming capability, independent air conditioning, safes and complimentary highspeed internet. The full kitchens feature a fridge/freezer, microwave, two plate hob, oven, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots and pans, cooking utensils and cleaning utensils. All apartment bathrooms come standard with the washer and dryer and the 2-bedroom apartments also feature balconies.

Nesuto Stadium Hotel and Apartments has also revealed a new food and beverage concept in NOOK Bar and Restaurant led by Chef de Cuisine, Sunok Ha. Sunok has an international background working and developing recipes in kitchens from Korea, Canada and New Zealand. Most recently, he worked at the Villa Maria Winery Estate in Auckland. NOOK seats 120 guests and offers a produce driven menu and an extensive beverage selection in a contemporary indoor-outdoor setting. An emphasis on utilising the best in local produce to create healthy food fare is at the core of NOOK’s offering.

Located in downtown Auckland at 40 Beach Rd, Britomart, Nesuto Stadium’s apartments offer a range of benefits over traditional hotels including fully equipped kitchens, separate bedrooms, open plan living and dining spaces, plus internal laundry facilities. Guests also have complimentary use of an off-site gym, indoor pool and tennis court and secure undercover carpark facilities just behind the hotel in Arena Car Park.

Additionally, Nesuto has launched its Stay Safe Travel Promise which ensures continued guest safety and comfort. As part of this, new measures have been put in place around cleaning and sanitation including leaving rooms vacant for 48 hours after each check-out and increased cleaning of high touch items in rooms and public spaces.

The guest experience will also be adjusted, socially distanced check-ins and check-outs, cashless transactions and decreased meeting and events space capacity.
