Old Mout’s cidermakers have spent the winter months in the cidery bringing to fruition an exciting new look to launch into summer. Celebrating its Nelson heritage, the much-loved New Zealand cider will introduce a refreshed label and new 500ml format, just in time for the new season.
Made from sun-ripened fruit at the Nelson cidery in the Moutere Valley since 1947, the refreshing cider has a reinvigorated label design, featuring unique fruit illustrations drawn and painted by a Nelson-based artist. Old Mout Cider is also extending its range to include a brand new format.
Jane Smith, an illustrator from Chocolate Dog Studio in Nelson, has captured the taste of the fruit in the bottle, showcasing the very best of the plump, ripe, crisp combinations of Old Mout Cider.
Kate Johnston, Old Mout Cider Brand Manager said she is proud to continue the cider’s rich Nelson history from what’s in the bottle to what’s on the bottle with the help of Jane’s creative skills.
“All our apples are sourced and crushed locally and for more than 60 years we have been making Old Mout in our Nelson cidery. With such a strong Kiwi heritage, we wanted the labels to embody the fact that although Old Mout is one of the country’s oldest ciders, the refreshing, authentic taste is still being enjoyed by Kiwis today.”
Along with a new look on the shelf, Old Mout is also giving cider lovers more options to enjoy the Nelson cider. The cider is now available in two new, distinct 500ml clear, glass bottles for its popular Boysencider and the award-winning Passionfruit & Cider*, adding to the current range of 1.25L PET bottles.
“The new 500ml bottles reflect the evolving and increasing cider drinking occasions. Along with the 1.25L bottle, there is now something for every cider occasion within our range; from picnics to parties, whether they are shared with a group of friends or enjoyed with your best mate. Even with a refreshed look and new size, it’s still the same delicious cider made with local Nelson fruit.”
