In the afternoon the young attendees heard from Anita Sarginson (NZ Chefs Association) on “Managing a Kitchen” and Jack Delosa on “Talent is Overrated – The 7 Unconventional Principles for Achieving Career Success”. There was a Young Guns panel featuring Adam Neal (Racket and Orleans Bar, Beam Bar Legend 2013), Sam Cunningham (Blankenberge Belgian Beer Cafe – Stella Artois Draught
Master and Hospitality NZ Future Leader Scholarship Recipient), and Jiemin Aw and Sarah Harrap (Bronze Medal winners 2014 WACS Global Pastry Chef Competition).

It is timely to note that applications for 2014 Hospitality NZ/SKY Future Leaders Scholarships are about to close (26 September). These scholarships provide financial and educational support to young people choosing to make hospitality their career.
