It’s getting colder and that means grabbing a hot pie, but who makes the best pie? The search is on to find the Bakels NZ Supreme Pie with entries now open for this year’s competition.
“New Zealand really does make the best pies in the world – we’re known for it. Each year the Bakels NZ Supreme Pie Awards invites entries from retail and commercial bakers who want to prove their pie-making skills.
“They know that winning an award will boost their business, with the Supreme Award taking them to the top of their game and earning them huge rewards in sales and recognition. But they’ve got to enter at www.nzbakels.co.nz to win,” says Bakels NZ managing director Brent Kersel.
Entries are open from now until June 24 at 5pm. Judging will take place in Auckland on July 22 with the winners announced at the Bakels NZ Supreme Pie Awards on July 27.
“Entry into the competition is free so why not give it ago and see how your pies stack up against other entries, including those from the reigning champion, Patrick Lam of Patrick’s Pies Goldstar Bakery, and other former Supreme winners. Do your pies have what it takes to be Supreme?” says Mr Kersel.
