rsz_winetopia_colin_mathura_jeffree_authorised_picThe final line-up is complete and Auckland wine lovers can rest assured that WINETOPIA presented by Singapore Airlines, 20-21 May at Shed 10, will deliver on its promise as being ‘the Greatest Celebration of New Zealand wine!’

Bursting with wines from every region and a huge range of the delicious varietals grown therein, WINETOPIA presented by Singapore Airlines gives visitors the opportunity to literally taste their way around the country in a single session.

From the Northern sunshine of Matakana, to the sunfilled bays of Waiheke, through Hawkes Bay, Gisborne and Martinborough, or across the Straight to Marlborough, Waipara and the Gibbston Valley, WINETOPIA presented by Singapore Airlines brings you a taste of everything that makes New Zealand wines great – including reds, whites and the flourishing universe of everything in between.

To help your wine discovery, WINETOPIA presented by Singapore Airlines is packed with ways to learn about your favourite drop, with Masterclasses by acclaimed critics, including our own Bob Campbell (MW) and Australian sommelier Nick Stock. Tantalising topics include Bob Campbell’s ‘Pinot Showdown: a Battle of the Regions’, or Nick Stock’s Friday session, ‘Jumping the Shark: In search of Zealand’s Great Whites.’

Sommelier-led tasting classes are another feature, led by such sparkling local talents Martina Lutz (Wine Chambers), Nicola Richards (Monsoon Poon Restaurant), Meg Abbott-Walker (MASU), Amanda Richards (Bracu/Allechante) and Ganesh Raj (The Tasting Shed).

Or, for a fun and interesting way to learn about wine, join one of the ‘Share a Glass’ sessions, where comedian Bendhan Lovegrove chats with some great Kiwi celebs (over a glass of award winning wine of course) about their journeys with wine and personal anecdotes. The lineup includes musician P Digsss from Shapeshifter, media personality Russell Brown, media bunker controller Verity Johnson, Mr Entertainment himself Shane Cortese and TV face Colin Mathura-Jeffree.

As any great sommelier will tell you, beautiful wine is made to be enjoyed with beautiful food, so WINETOPIA is proud to present a selection of food matches – a true experience of being ‘wined and dined’. Ambassador Nick Stock will also be holding a very special tasting, matching sumptuous Vietnamese food with beautiful New Zealand wines. Taking place every single session (first in, first served), this tasting will include delicious Vietnamese fare prepared by District 5 and Café Viet.
