Christchurch chef joins the Platinum League

Darren Wright was named recipient of one of the highest culinary honours within the industry at Beef + Lamb’s Ambassador Series dinner hosted at his Christchurch restaurant, Chillingworth Road. After being named an Ambassador Chef for Beef + Lamb New Zealand four times, Darren has earned the prestigious title of Platinum Ambassador alongside only five other top Kiwi chefs.

Darren says achieving Platinum Ambassador status is a milestone in his career as a chef: 
“Being a Beef + Lamb Ambassador chef has provided me with a multitude of opportunities, not to mention support. I am very proud and privileged to be a Platinum Ambassador and associated with a product that is the best in the world,” says Darren.

Darren joins five other Platinum Ambassadors in this exclusive league; Stephen Barry; Michael Coughlin; Brenton Low; Mat McLean and Rex Morgan. Through annual assessment, restaurants which present outstanding beef and lamb cuisine are deemed Excellence Award holders with a select five chefs going forward to be named Ambassador Chefs for Beef + Lamb New Zealand each year. due to his high level of skill and passion for the craft, Darren Wright was named a Beef + Lamb New Zealand Ambassador Chef in 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2014, now achieving a lifetime status of Platinum Ambassador.
