Customised cuisine at SIDART mid-week dining

rsz_sid_sahrawat_1In a break from tradition, Sid Sahrawat is handing control of his celebrated degustations to his clientele.

On Wednesday and Thursday evenings diners can now experience a new style of SIDART dining at the award winning Ponsonby restaurant with the introduction of a specialised mid-week menu.

The concept joins the restaurant’s innovative Tuesday Test Kitchen and Chef’s Table experiences, and enables diners to create their own customised tasting menu. Guests are able to select from SIDART’s famous menu – which changes monthly – for only $17 a dish.

The mid-week dining experience opens the door to customers who may have never tried degustation dining before with a flexible format that enables guests to customise their courses to between four and nine. 

“It’s an opportunity to evolve and present a less formal cuisine adventure for foodies and those new to degustation alike,” Sahrawat says. “It is a slight departure from convention but we are keen to ensure people can improve their understanding and enjoyment of fine dining and all the wonderful taste sensations it can deliver and hopefully attract those who are less likely to want a full blown nine course degustation.”

While each table is required to have the same dishes and number of courses, diners are able to mix and match plates to create a customised demi-degustation to their liking.

Sid and his team work hard to make the SIDART experience truly special – taking diners on a culinary journey of taste and flavour and the mid-week dining expands on this philosophy.
