Fine Food shows rescheduled

The organisers of Fine Food New Zealand have confirmed the newly scheduled dates for the event to be June 13-15 2021, at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland.

“We have worked in consultation with the venue, key stakeholders and other international organisers to secure dates that will work best for the industry as a whole,” explain the organisers.

“We feel the generous lead time between now and June 2021 places the show well beyond what will likely be a recovery phase of COVID-19 for the wider economy. As we experienced with the launch of this event post the GFC, Fine Food New Zealand proved a very effective platform for economic and sector recovery, filling the void left from the crisis – and Fine Food New Zealand 2021 will be no different.”

Australia

Meanwhile across the Tasman Fine Food Australia has cancelled its 2020 trade show due to the reintroduction of stage three COVID -19 restriction in Victoria. The show was scheduled to take place from 7-10 September in Melbourne, however Diversified Communications managing director David Longman said despite the team’s best efforts, conditions are not right to run the event this year.

“We didn’t make this decision lightly. There are multiple industries that have relied on us running this year, however we know this is the right and safest decision to make at this point,” said Longman.

Fine Food Australia has launched a number of initiatives to support the industry during the current pandemic, including a digital content initiative called Hospitality Unites, as well as a new online B2B product directory to help facilitate businesses remotely.

“This new directory will transform Fine Food from a physical event into a vital digital tool for our 92,000+ trade buyers and our 1,000+ exhibitors,” said Longman

“We want to ensure our buyers and exhibitors continue to connect in these extremely challenging conditions and this resource will facilitate remote business 365 days a year.”

“Our industry has been one of the hardest hit in the past few months and we’ve been inspired to see businesses pivot and transform – it’s a credit to this adaptable industry and the can-do attitude of the people we admire and work alongside.”

Fine Food Australia will have its next event from 6 – 9 September 2021 at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
