Valentine’s Day menu & venue flair in Newmarket

William Mordido is the owner and creative director of pop-up restaurant Buko. Through his unique concept and mouth-watering Asian fusion meals, William managed to charm diners throughout the world. One of the most distinctive traits of his pop-up restaurant is his ability to follow different ideas and themes. This is exactly what’s happening for Valentine’s Day weekend. Chef Mordido has set out to treat guests to a fantastic menu experience, designed to get couples in the right mood.

Guests will be greeted with the finest Ayala Champagne and fresh New Zealand oysters. The luxurious starter will be followed by four courses, with the mystery menu revealed on the night, featuring world-class chocolate by Whittaker’s, a partner in this event.

We all know that chocolate is one of the world’s most renowned symbols of passion, indulgence, and desire. What happens when a world-class chef combines this timeless ingredient with other romantic foods? The culinary collaboration between Buko and Whittaker’s is all about setting the bar higher. Their vision? Treating the guests to a culinary experience to remember.

Whether you are a dessert lover, or simply keen on trying something unique, the night’s menu will amaze you for its originality and fervour. Staying true to the spirit of Valentine’s Day, this food exudes love and passion.

Each dish will be an exploration of Whittaker’s artisan collection chocolate range as a versatile and delicious ingredient, infused with Columbian mango and passionfruit, Hawke’s Bay black doris plum and roasted almonds, Fijian ginger and Kerikeri mandarin, and West Coast buttermilk caramelised white chocolate.

William’s decadent menu also features creative ways to enjoy a delicious range of trusted New Zealand brands including Chelsea Sugar, Meadow Fresh and Edmonds products.

Each course will be alternate with loose-leaf tea by Noble & Savage Tea Merchants and premium artesian water from New Zealand, Antipodes.

This is your chance to treat your partner to a unique dining experience, whilst contributing to a very good cause. 10% of the profits generated throughout the event will be donated to the Women’s Refuge, in an effort to give back to the community and raise awareness on important issues.

William Mordido’s enthusiasm for the project is palpable, as he prepares for his second collaboration with Whittaker’s.

“With the pop-up events receiving such fantastic nationwide and foreign reception, we’re confident that our second event for Valentine’s Day and second collaboration with Whittaker’s will be one of the best events of the summer. We have over 12 events planned for 2019, and can’t wait to do more already!”
